Stewarding human relationships to the ocean
In October 2025 I provided a seminar to the University of British Columbia's Institute of Oceans and Fisheries department that synthesizes my work, research, and philosophy over the past decade involved in marine stewardship in British Columbia

Building relationships to the ocean through science, art, and community
Inspired by Nerd Nite's magical combination of science talks in informal venues and by my personal obsession with science-art combinations, in March 2024 I hosted a community event to 'Celebrate the Coast'. This event brought local scientists, visual artists, musicians, and oyster farmers from the Sunshine Coast together to share inspiring ocean-themed content.
Community Engagement and Story Telling
On World Ocean Day, 2024, I contributed toward a speaker series to celebrate the Sunshine Coast's marine ecosystems and share an approach to climate activism that is rooted in respect, reciprocity, and relationality.
